Wrapping up my first proposed Kindle Single which, for those unfamiliar with, is the part of Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) exclusively for publishing short stories. Unlike the other part of KDP, Kindle Singles need to be approved by Kindle. So I'll be submitting this soon and once approved (hopefully) it'll be available shortly thereafter.

It's the story of a man suffering from ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) who was once on his way to becoming a huge rock star and one of the greatest guitar players of all time. While recording his first album with another mega-star who had hired him to be the lead guitarist, our hero is diagnosed with ALS and given 3-5 years to live.

20-some odd years later and our protagonist is alive but completely immobilized by the disease. His only means of communication is blinking his eyes. But when he and his family are approached with an opportunity to restore his mobility and his musicianship they jump at the chance.

There is one catch, however. If he goes through with the procedure he will never be with his family again. Never.
